Jan is a child of God, wife to Dee, and mother of two amazing kids! Jan has been homeschooling her children since kindergarten, and has been teaching children in some form or fashion for over two decades. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Louisiana Tech University (summa cum laude) and a master of science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Southern Mississippi (magna cum laude). She taught as a speech therapist in the public school system in Mississippi, where she served as an augmentative and alternative communication specialist, before moving to Georgia in 1993 to work as an outpatient speech pathologist for Egleston Children’s Hospital. After the birth of her first child, she went into private practice so she could be home more. She became a full-time homemaker in 2006. She is passionate about teaching, with a tender heart for those with special needs. She also formerly led a local homeschool support group and loves sharing about homeschooling and encouraging young mothers. She enjoys researching, reading, and camping with her family in her spare time (if there is such a thing).
